If you hold a Level 2 Gym, Exercise to Music or Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, this course is perfect for you. You can choose from four qualifications to assess in.

Course details

This course is suitable if you wish to study whilst staying within full-time employment as it's delivered in a flexible format. There is a blend of classroom-based learning and home study.

What you will learn

 

You can will gain the qualification based on your experience and the type of learners you want to assess:


Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement

This award is for assessing learners within a workshop or classroom using skills tests, verbal and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and recognising previous learning.

  • Unit 1 - Understanding the principles and practices of assessment.

  • Unit 3 - Assessing vocational skills, knowledge and understanding.

You’ll need access to learners that are taking a vocational course - for example with a Level 2 certificate in Fitness Instruction (Gym or Exercise to Music).

Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment

This award is for if you simply want to know about assessments without actually practicing as an assessor – for example, if you’re a manager.

  • Unit 1 - Understanding the principles and practices of assessment.

 

This is suitable if you don’t have access to learners, but won’t qualify you as an assessor.

What you will qualify with

Depending on the qualification you enroll onto you'll achieve a certificate in the following:

  • YMCA Awards Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (QCF)

  • YMCA Awards Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (QCF)

 

Accreditations

  • 16 REPs points

  • 10 CIMSPA points

 

What you need to do this course

  • You’ll need to assess your own candidates from a centre or workplace for your exam.

  • You must be qualified in the discipline you wish to assess in, for example you’d need a Level 2 Gym, Exercise to Music or Level 3 Personal Trainer certificate.

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the discipline you wish to assess in.

Registrations

These take place on Monday-Wednesday-Friday & some Weekends From 10:00 - 17:00 at The Gym Way, 21 Bryanston Street, London, W1h 7HB if you are studying via distance or flexi study you may be required to enroll online. 

Alongside completing/returning the course application (Please complete, Date of birth,  Your home address info, Enter your name and Date).

Price

£450

Payments

The £300 deposit can be paid in cash or bank transfer and when we receive your completed application, the remaining balance of £150 can be paid in 1, 2, or 3 monthly instalments of £150, £100, or £50. Any certificates will only be released after all outstanding balances are cleared. A letter confirming achievement and completion is provided during any interim period until the zero balance is achieved.
